The Invitations

It’s essential to have real invitations for a fairy garden, rather than online invitations, plus you’re guaranteed to have a higher response rate. Invitations can be printed on one side, or be a traditional card-style. Be specific as to what kind of fairy garden gathering it is: treats, tea and cake, or a full dinner.

Decoration Tutorials

The garden can be decorated with streamers and balloons. Confetti can be sprinkled over the tops of tables. Paper plates and cups should be in a pastel color. Each picnic table can have a lovely bouquet of flowers placed in a container that has been sourced from the garden, such as a watering can, pot, or planter.

If you are having older children or adults to the party, the good dishes can be brought out. This is the time to get full use out of your tea service set.

Games/Activities

Besides the dress up time and the treats there are other fun activities to have at your fairy garden party. Children can make fairy doors from popsicle sticks. These can be painted and then decorated with jewelry findings and beads.

Small plastic jewels can be purchased from the crafts section of stores, and then hidden around the yard. The kids can be told that the fairy has left hidden jewels around the garden. The child who has collected together the most jewels will win a small prize.

Kids and adults alike will be excited to attend your fairy garden party. It may take a bit of extra effort on your part, but it’s going to be an afternoon that everyone will be talking about for months to come.

The Food

A beautiful cake decorated with real or piped icing petals will not only provide table decoration, but be eagerly anticipated by your young guests. You may also wish to do cupcakes that are decorated in the shapes of flowers.

For fairy treats you can choose small finger dainties such as chocolate, sausage rolls, quiche, cookies, fudge, and cheese and crackers.

Party Favors

The fairy garden party favors can be presented in attractive tulle drawstring bags that you can find at the dollar store. Some ideas for the bags can include big glitzy rings, bubbles, a tiara, or a small ladybug stuffy toy.

Sending Out Thank Yous

Thank you cards can be sent any time after the birthday party. I always recommend sending out photo thank you cards as it is a great keepsake for your guests of your little ones special first birthday!
