The Invitations
Often birthday parties for kids can have a wide range of ages in attendance so it can be tricky finding a party theme that will appeal to everyone. A fiesta is a Spanish-themed carnival or gathering, but it can be celebrated anywhere, and it makes the perfect party theme for all ages.
Fiesta-themed party invitations should be bright and colorful. There may be streamers, confetti, or fireworks on the front. Whatever it is, it should be clear that this is going to be a big party celebration hosted in your home, or special party location, such as a movie theatre or bowling centre.
Decoration Tutorials
This is one time when you can dig out all your party decorations and mix and match colours. Think bright, vivid, and flamboyant. Party streamers and decorative balls can be hung from the ceiling. The table centerpiece can have metallic confetti strewn around the outside. Balloons will be essential, and you’ll be able to find party pinatas in most party sections of big box stores.
Games/Activities
Have an assortment of games and activities for the different age levels at your party. Younger children can play in a pool filled with balls, not water. Older children can try their hand at breaking open the pinata. Adults can have fun playing a game of cards for some cash.
If you’re celebrating in the evening, sparklers can be lit while people wave them around in the dark. Also think about making up a video diary, and let each friend or family member say happy birthday to the party recipient.
The Food
When you think of fiesta you think of Mexican food. Making up tacos can be a fun and simple way to serve party food. Or, you can set up a taco buffet and let people build their own tacos. If you’re new to cake decorating, the party cake can have fireworks and stars piped over it in icing, and it’ll look great even if a beginner has done it.
For party drinks you can mix soft drink drinks with fruit juice, and spear some fruit pieces and attach them to the edge of the glasses.
Party Favors
Think about something fun and colourful to hand out as party favours. Sometimes people don’t want even more candy after a big meal. Check out your big box crafting or dollar store as they may have some colourful animal stuffies.
